About
Sanctuary South is a creative ministry and faith collective with ministers Rev. Dr. Erin Robinson Hall and Rev. Dr. Jake Hall.
Born from years of pastoral leadership, academic study, and artistic collaboration, Sanctuary South cultivates spaces where faith and imagination meet—where Christian wisdom is not confined to sanctuaries but encountered in song, story, and shared experience.
Macon, Georgia, serves as Sanctuary South’s home and muse - a city where Southern soul, storytelling, and spiritual seeking intertwine.
Erin Robinson Hall
(She/Her)
Writer, podcaster, educator, and preacher are all pieces of Erin’s vocational life. She enjoys designing programs, curriculum, and experiences for people that invite imagination and spiritual formation. Rev. Dr. Hall is a graduate of Samford University, Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and Columbia School of Theology. Erin writes a column in Macon Magazine called “Cups and Water” about spirituality and how we are more connected than separate, after all.
Jake Hall
(He/him)
Rooted in Baptist traditions and animated by ecumenical vitality, Hall’s work draws from his theological formation at Samford University, Duke Divinity School, and Mercer University and over twenty years of pastoral ministry. Hall’s radio program, Gospel Gothic, has aired on 100.9 The Creek and Tom Hanks’ Country A-Go-Go, blending Americana music and theological reflection, and featuring dialogue with artists and thought leaders.
Through Sanctuary South, Hall seeks to translate the spiritual vitality he discovered both within and beyond “the stained glass settings” into a network of creative practices - broadcasts, gatherings, and collaborations—that reveal God’s presence both in the wild and the ordinary.
Our Rhythm
Gospel Gothic
A radio revival where scripture meets southern song, Gospel Gothic reimagines the sacred through Americana sound and story.
Broadcast each week from Macon, it’s a liturgy of roots music and redemption for believers, doubters, and dreamers alike.
Sacred Sparks
Sacred Sparks gathers artists, preachers, and poets to explore how faith and creativity ignite new ways of seeing.
Through story, song, and shared reflection, it kindles awe and imagination—the holy
Tavernsong
Tavernsong transforms familiar hymns and barroom ballads into shared prayers of the people. Over strings, laughter, and libations, we discover that grace often hums loudest in unexpected places.
Listening Room Liturgies
Rooted Rhythmn
Listening Room Liturgies create sacred spaces for stillness, song, and spoken reflection. They offer a contemplative concert of faith—where every note, word, and silence becomes prayer.
Rooted Rhythm is an embodied practice where breath and movement meet southern soul. It’s Americana yoga for the spirit—grounding, musical, and wholly alive.
